Welcome to the official What Makes Sammy Run? website, dedicated to the classic 1941 novel that introduced one of America's greatest fictional creations -- the ultimate heel, Sammy Glick.  Created with the approval of the book's author, Budd Schulberg, this site offers information on the two short stories Schulberg wrote for Liberty Magazine that he later expanded into the novel, the 1949 and 1959 television adaptations, the 1964 Broadway musical (and the newly revised version now available for production), and the upcoming motion picture version to be directed by actor Ben Stiller.
